Dementia

  • Val’s IT Adventure resource is a practical local story describing how an innovative IT device was used to support a client living with dementia; practice that supports the Aged Care Quality Standards. It consists of a  poster and accompanying reflective questions that can be used in a team meeting or discussion.
  • The Regional Community Dementia Nurse Consultant supports Community Nurses and Allied Health staff in Loddon Mallee towards best practice, including case conferencing.

Having dementia, or caring for someone who has dementia, can increase barriers to service access and delivery, especially when it intersects with existing disadvantage (see diversity special need groups). The Diversity Advisor can direct you to useful resources (eg. short video clips) in relation to diversity and dementia.
