There are CHSP funded social support services (group and individual support) throughout Loddon Mallee and a network of providers meet regularly to share ideas and improve practice. There will still be individuals and cohorts of people who are isolated socially or geographically. Looking at the local demographic through the ABS as well as anecdotally and in partnership with local providers can support service development that meets the social needs of smaller or new cohorts (see Diversity News Afghan Social Support example).
Mapping poverty This map shows the overall rates of Victorians living in poverty in individual suburbs and localities (SA2s) and breakdown by gender, age, employment status, housing tenure and household type. A full report is available on the VCOSS site.
How exactly can a Financial Counsellor help? Financial Counselling Victoria (FCVic) provides resources and support to financial counsellors and their agencies who assist vulnerable Victorians experiencing financial difficulty.
Financial elder abuse is the most common form of elder abuse. Seniors Rights Victoria produce resources and community education.
